Optician  
Duties and Responsibilities: A list of things that opticians do are; 
  • Measure client's bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical center of the eyes, using measuring devices. 
  • Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications 
  • Prepare work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses 
  • Maintain records for customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments  
  • Supervise the training of student opticians 
  • Repair damaged frames

Salary: The median annual optician salary is $43,425, as of February 22,2017. The range is usually between $40,124-$52,367. This amount can vary widely depending on a variety of factors. In Los Angeles, CA, the median annual salary is $48,004. With the range from $41,031-$66,888. 

Education: What is required to 
become an optician is a high school diploma or something equivalent to that. Some employers may prefer those with certificates of associate's degree.  
Demand or need for this Profession: According to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, the rate of employment for opticians is projected to increase 24 percent from 2014-2024.  

Reflection: I wouldn't like to be in this profession. It does not seem interesting to me at all. I do not like it because it focuses on working with eye care which I don't find interesting. I would not work in a profession that does not interest me.
