Ophthalmologist
Duties and Responsibilities: Ophthalmology is the branch of medicine that deals with the anatomy, physiology and diseases of the eyeball. Ophthalmologists are specialists in medical and surgical eye problems. They also examine eyes and prescribe contact lenses and glasses.
Salary: The median ophthalmology salary is $274,119 as of February 22, 2017. The range is usually between $230,438-4313,559. After looking more into this I found that location affects this amount too. Here in our areaLos Angeles, the median annual amount would be $303,019.
Education: Ophthalmologist must have a medical degree. They must also earn a four year bachelor's degree. Then must complete four years of medical school and then undergo 3-8 years of internships and residency.
Demand or need for this profession: According to the data from the U.S BLS the employment outlook is predicted to have a 14% increase in job openings from 2014-2024.

Reflection: I would not be interested in this career pathway. Focusing on the eyes and problems with them is not something that interest me.  It is also a really long path to get there. I would not want to go to school for so long and especially for something that does not interest me.
