   Kindergarten Teacher

Duties and Responsibilities: Some characteristics one needs to be a kindergarten teacher is to love kids, have patience, empathy, creativity and the desire to mold and shape young minds. They teach a variety of subjects to their students throughout the day. These subjects include social studies, science, language arts (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), and math. Students will learn how to read and compose simple sentences. There are many hands on experiments as part of lessons.
Salary: According to the published BLS data, the national average salary for kindergarten teachers is $52,840. Amounts can change and can depend on location and education. Here in California the average salary is $63,940.
Education: All certified kindergarten teachers in the US must have a Bachelor's degree in addition to a state-issued license or certificate. The license should be specific to teaching elementary school students. Although each state has their own specific licensing requirements.
Demand for this particular career: The job outlook growth projection from 2012 to 2020 is expected to increase by 13%. In California the projected job growth is 13.4%.


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be this? Why? Why not?

I would like to be this. This is a very fun and educational job. You will be helping students a lot since their brains are developing. This would be a fun job since they are little kids. You would be doing your job but having fun at the same time.
