Duties and Responsibilities: An ear, nose, and throat specialist is a physician which is trained in the medical and surgical treatment of the ears, nose, throat and related parts of the head and neck. Almost all ENT specialist handle cases like nosebleeds, adenoidectomies, infected mastoids, tonsillectomies, and sinusitis.

Salary: The average annual salary for an ENT specialist is $205,000. Although some make less and some make more. The range is between $224,063 to $400,336. The highest reporting salary is $516,000.

Education: To become an ENT you must first go through medical school. Then you need to complete 5 years of residency training. The first year focuses on breaking you into the surgical residency experience. The following years is training.

Demand for this profession: The demand for ENT is high and expected to increase. This medical career is competitive. ENT are the highest paid of all specializing physicians. This is a competitive but good paying job. Also there is a job growth in this area and there are still many opening and oppurtunities.


Reflection: Do you think you would like to be this? Why? Why not?

I think that this career is interesting and could be fun. So maybe I would like to one. I would want to because there are many things that you can do within the field. You wouldn’t be only focused on one part but there are many.
