     Student Success Statement
                                            Obedience
“When obedience becomes our goal, it is no longer an irritation; instead of a stumbling block, it becomes a building block.”
           James E. Faust

At first being obedient can be a hassle. It isn't something you're used to. At first it can be an “irritation”. This is why he says this. You can find it hard to do the right thing and be obedient with it. Overtime it’ll become easier. When you stop thinking of being obedient as a bad thing and start thinking it’s good, it will bring good things. It will start paying off. It can bring you things like material things but it can also bring you knowledge. It will bring you farther in life. It can take you to a peaceful and happy mindset. For example, being good in your job can bring you a higher level or it can bring you more friends. It can also bring you happiness, knowing that you’re doing good. This is how it will become a building block. It will bring you higher up. Not being obedient will only bring you down. It’ll just take you lower.

Student Success Statement
                                    Obedience
“Obedience is central to becoming, being, and remaining happy.”
                                                -David Bednar

Being obedient will make a lot of things in life right. It will bring a lot of things as well. Happiness being one of those things. If we weren’t obedient we wouldn’t enjoy the things we have. For example sometimes in life you have to be obedient and patient for what you want. If we were not obedient we would give up and not work for it. Resulting in not getting what we want. Then we will not be satisfied and unhappy. So being obedient will pay off. You may get material prizes for being obedient but most importantly you will gain happiness. And that is something to wouldn’t be taken away from you.
